A message to the mayor

Dear Shari Green, it has been going on three months now since you have taken the reins as Mayor of Prince George.

Dear Shari Green, it has been going on three months now since you have taken the reins as Mayor of Prince George. I have not seen anything that shows you cannot do the job - the job that you were elected into by the people of Prince George and the decisions you make which are paid for with our tax dollars.

We all know the not-so-record heavy snow fall we have not had this year so far which means of course not having to use the entire budget put aside for this fiscal year.

I would think the funds not used in snow removal could be moved into the pothole budget.

Makes sense to me.

We got a knock at our door one morning a couple of weeks back. There was a City Of Prince George employee

asking us to move our vehicle from the front street because the snow plow was going to be coming through.

Both my husband and I looked at each other and looked outside where there was next to no snow on the ground.

We could see the grass on half of our lawn.

Sure enough the snow plows went back and forth. What a waste of our tax dollars.

Then a week later we got a huge dump of snow. We did not have anyone knocking at our door then (although we do not expect anyone to knock on our door to give us warning that the snow plow was coming - like everyone else we wait and listen for it down the street and then move our vehicles).

Hopefully you can get a better handle on managing the different departments and their respective budgets as time goes on.

I truly hope you succeed in serving more than one term as mayor of Prince George.
