I am going to write about strike action and how it is effecting the kids in school.
I was very excited for the year end field trips and finishing off elementary school with great memories. But it looks like that is never going to happen. And if the Union decides to start stage three strike action, it is not just that students won't be able to go for a field trip, but we won't be able to finish the year properly.
Since the strike has started, I have been uncertain about the next things to happen. I usually like to know what is going to happen but, when I knew that the strike was taking the first stage to another, it was a big disappointment. First, recess got taken away, second we didn't get education for a day, and third our education and the fun might all get taken away because of the strike. Because we might not be able to get education I don't feel confident going up to high school like this.
Why can't the government give what the teachers and the students need or why can't the Union ask for less? Even if the Union got what they wanted, students who are graduating won't get the education they NEEDED, not just the students graduating but every other student as well. Maybe some people think that the strike is the right thing to do, but kids don't come to school to sit and pretend they are learning. The kids need proper education and occasionally fun! And it is very, very disappointing that the education and the fun is ruined by the strike.
I am not asking for an answer but I just wanted people to know how we students feel about this situation.
