A few characters short

I am, writing to complain about what appears to be a declining standard of grammar in news articles. In particular, this shows up as the use of the adjective form of a word when an adverb is clearly needed. A recent example: ...section shows plain.

I am, writing to complain about what appears to be a declining standard of grammar in news articles.

In particular, this shows up as the use of the adjective form of a word when an adverb is clearly needed.

A recent example: ...section shows plain. The correct form of course is "plainly."

Certainly, such usage dominates casual conversation (drive safe) but I suggest

that it is still not considered correct in written communications.

Or perhaps, your typesetting software is missing a few characters.

Yours truly,
