A challenge from a shiny street

I wanted to write regarding the condition of our streets, yes another one of those letters. I also would like to issue a challenge to our mayor and council although I doubt they will accept.

My challenge is an invitation to come to my home and take a short walk with a senior citizen to the end of my street and back (half a block). We can enjoy the sunshine, fresh air and the shiny street together. Then we will get into my small car for a lovely bouncing ride enjoying the ruts tossing us to and fro while the bottom of the car drags on the center. If they are as lucky as I have been, they may even have the thrill and enjoyment of a rut sending the car sideways while they issue prayers for no other car coming towards us. The ride will be even more enjoyable if they have a very bad back and tendonitis in their wrists to get more fun out of the bounces as they tightly grip the steering wheel. We may even slide right through the Stop sign. It's so much fun.

According to the paper today on the snow report by Bill Gaal the problem is that everybody wants their street done first and complains when it isn't. I have until this winter found the plowing satisfactory and only complain when all the streets around me are plowed and mine is missed completely. I have even sent kudos to the staff for the job they do. Mr. Gaal may also enjoy my challenge if he wishes.

I doubt that they will accept my challenge but if they do I have one request: No cheating. Please do not remove any of the ice or sand the extreme ice on my street.

I love sliding across the street and not being able to walk. Do come and join me.
