On Sept. 14 a fundraiser dinner and dance was put on to raise some money to help me.
I am shocked and at the same time very thankful for the generosity of my friends, their friends and complete strangers for their donations to me.
If you were there, Thank you just for coming to the dinner and dance. That in itself was very kind and I hope you all enjoyed the food and wonderful music and dancing.
There are some people I want to thank personally.
First of all I want to thank my dear friend Marg Camilli for presenting this fundraiser to me and doing all the work to get posters and newspaper articles out and for getting all the silent auctions donations. Both Marg and her husband Chris put in many hours to organize this. Thank you to Chris Camilli for providing the music for the dance. Judging by the number of people up dancing for every song you sang the music was very much enjoyed.
I want to thank my friend Joan Skuggedal and all her family and her church family for all their support. Thanks to Oddette Nicholson and her family for all their support over the last year and a half especially all the phone calls she has made to me while in Calgary.
To Rick and Eileen Naef for always looking after my lawns and shoveling my snow even when I didn't ask. To Mama and Steve Wheaton for being there for me and listening to me on our dog walks and for caring about me enough to phone me in Calgary even when you were on holidays in Winnipeg.
Thank you to Mary and Stan Pelletier for watching over my house while I am gone. There is many more people I want to thank. Many of you are strangers to me but you still stepped forward to help me so thank you very much for all your generous donations.
Also thank you to all the businesses that made donations for the silent auctions. Thank you to the Treasure Cove Casino for giving us a deal on the dinner and the Show Lounge. All the money raised is certainly going to make my life much easier and a lot of stress has been lifted off of me. This is going to help my many trips back and forth to Calgary to spend precious time with my daughter in the Salvation Army Agape Hospice House.
I love every one of you who have helped me and all of you who are continuing to support me emotionally.
Thank you
