Vehicle accident knocks out power

BC Hydro customers on the west side of the city’s West Bowl area were left without power for about four hours Friday night/Saturday morning after a vehicle collided with an electrical pole. The power outage happened at 8:48 p.m.

BC Hydro customers had to get out the candles and flashlights when the lights went out at about 8:48 p.m. Friday after a vehicle collided with an electrical pole, knocking out power for about four hours in the West Bowl area of the city.

BC Hydro customers on the west side of the city’s West Bowl area were left without power for about four hours Friday night/Saturday morning after a vehicle collided with an electrical pole.

The power outage happened at 8:48 p.m. Friday and caused a blackout that extended as far west as Miworth and as far east as Ospika Boulevard, from 15th Avenue to the south bank of the Nechako River.

About 1,520 customers were affected. BC Hydro crews arrived at about 10 p.m. restored the power at about 1:45 a.m.
