Prince George Fire Rescue crews were called to the scene of a small fire Tuesday afternoon in a downtown area industrial shop.
The blaze, which caused minimal damage to the building at 220 Queensway, was confined to a wall where employees of the business, Westbin Waste, had been changing a water pipe.
"The fire was caused by some grinding and some sparks ended up in the wall," said PGFR assistant chief Denis Poulin. "It was probably smoldering for a couple of hours before it was noticed. They basically had it out, it was just opening it up to check for fire spread. There was very minimal damage to the place."
Fifteen firefighters from four halls responded to the call.
