VIA Rail passenger service on the Skeena line between Prince Rupert and Jasper was restored on July 5. Two trains per week leave the downtown Prince George station.

Ongoing railway blockades have prompted Via Rail to cancel service between Prince George and Prince Rupert until at least Feb. 26.

Via Rail's service connecting Vancouver, Jasper, Edmonton and beyond to Toronto – a route known as The Canadian – has also been cancelled until Feb. 26.

Via Rail announced the continued cancellations on the same day the company temporarily laid off 1,000 workers because of disruptions to rail service across the country.
