At the time of the Sept. 11, 2019 crash that killed a 21-year-old woman, also from Valemount, North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson said speed and alcohol may have played roles.

She said the vehicle was seen proceeding in an erratic manner prior to the crash and when police arrived they found it in a ditch on its roof. The woman, who was ejected from the vehicle, was airlifted to hospital where she later died.

The driver suffered minor injuries.
