Transit seeking feedback on expanded service

B.C. Transit is hosting public engagement sessions on how best to use the additional hours of service approved by city council earlier this year. In July, city council approved 2,500 hours of expanded transit service for the city.

B.C. Transit is hosting public engagement sessions on how best to use the additional hours of service approved by city council earlier this year.

In July, city council approved 2,500 hours of expanded transit service for the city. Proposed changes include boosted Sunday service, increased trip frequency on well-used routes and improvements in bus connections, as well as an easier to understand riders' guide.

B.C. Transit and city staff will be on hand at transit exchanges and Talktober events throughout October to gather input.

Here's a look at the schedule:

- Wed., Oct. 12: UNBC 3333 University Way, 7-10 a.m., and 3- 5 p.m.; Columbus Community Centre, 6:30-8 p.m.

- Tues., Oct. 18: Hart exchange, 3829 Austin Rd. W, 7-10 a.m.; Westgate exchange, Southridge Ave., noon-3 p.m.; Hart Community Centre, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

- Thurs., Oct. 20: Blackburn Community Hall, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

- Mon., Oct. 24: Downtown exchange, 7th and Dominion Ave., 7-10 a.m.; College of New Caledonia, 3330-22 Ave., noon-3 p.m.; Wood Innovation and Design Centre 4:30-6:30 p.m.

- Wed., Oct. 26: Spruceland exchange, 795 Central St. W., 7-10 a.m.; Pine Centre exchange, 3055 Massey Dr., noon- 3 p.m.; College of New Caledonia atrium, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
