An 18-year-old Vanderhoof woman is suspected of committing a stabbing.

Madison Rose Patrick faces counts of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and resisting arrest.

She was apprehended Wednesday evening after Prince George RCMP were called at 4 p.m. to a 1400-block Third Ave. home where a man was found suffering from injuries consistent with "being stabbed by an edged weapon," police said.

He was taken to hospital for treatment of the injury while a search began for his alleged attacker. Found walking near the corner of 6th Avenue and Dominion Street, Patrick was arrested about 90 minutes later after a short chase.

She was later released on a recognizance to appear in court on Sept. 11.

"The victim and suspect are known to each other," RCMP said. "This was a targeted act as a result of a disagreement."
