The B.C. Passenger Transportation Board has denied an Ontario-based ride hailing service a licence that would have allowed it to operate in Prince George.

In a decision issued Friday, the PTB said the business plan for Uride lacked details regarding such matters as how drivers will be hired, monitored and trained and how their vehicles would be inspected. The plan also failed to provide information on how potential incidents with a client or an accident would be addressed.

"Considered as whole, the business plan falls short of demonstrating that Uride has the capability to provide the proposed service," the PTB said.

Based in Thunder Bay, Uride had applied for licences to operate across B.C. with the exception of the Lower Mainland.
