The city is urging households and businesses to pay their property taxes online or through the mail rather than in person as a way to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Methods include sending a cheque by mail, through an online payment service offered by a bank or credit union, or by credit card using the PayTM Canada mobile app, the city said in a statement.

Further advice on how to do so can be found at www.princegeorge.ca/taxes.

Residents can still pay in person at city hall but will be subject to physical distancing requirements and will be asked to use hand sanitizer.

The city is sending out property tax bills this week and the deadline for payment is July 3.
