A 50-year-old Terrace man who recently moved to Prince George is in custody after allegedly carrying out a spree of thefts.
Phillip Thompson Cooper faces counts three counts of break and enter and one count each of possession of break-in instruments and possession of stolen property, as well as four counts of possession of a firearm contrary to an order.
Cooper was arrested on Tuesday at a 1600-block Queensway Street location where a sport utility vehicle that went missing from an Ingledew Street home sometime over Saturday night was also recovered.
It's also suspected Cooper was behind three break ins, the most recent being on Sunday afternoon when $2,000 was taken from a 1700-block Quinn Street business. A surveillance camera at the business caught images of a man in the stolen SUV, police said.
Cooper is also alleged to have stolen several thousand dollars worth of merchandise from a Commercial Crescent business on Sat., April 1 and a small amount of cash from a 1600-block Nicholson Street business on Thurs., March 30.
Thompson, who police described as a prolific offender, has an extensive criminal record for offences committed in Terrace, Chilliwack and Vancouver. He remains in custody.
