Missing woman case enters sixth year

Fort St. James RCMP have put out a call for any tips that may help solve a six-year-old missing person case.

Fort St. James RCMP have put out a call for any tips that may help solve a six-year-old missing person case.

Bonnie Marie Joseph was last seen by her family in the Vanderhoof area, about 100 kilometres west of Prince George, in September 2007 and reported missing in December after friends and family had not heard from her.

Joseph was known to be very independent and traveled frequently from her home town of Fort St. James to the Vanderhoof and Prince George, North District RCMP Cst. Lesley Smith said.

"The RCMP continue to search for answers into the disappearance of Bonnie Joseph," Smith said. "We have no leads as to whether Bonnie got a ride with a friend, hitchhiked or took a bus to a nearby community.

"We are hoping someone may recognize her photo and shed some light on this six-year mystery."

Also known as "Bonnie M", Joseph was 31-years-old at the time she disappeared and described as 5'4" tall, 120 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information in relation to the disappearance of Bonnie Marie Joseph is asked to contact the Fort St. James RCMP detachment at 250-996-8269. Tips can also be provided anonymously by calling CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
