Man charged following break and enter

A Prince George man is in custody on charges following a break and enter into a Johnson Street garage early Tuesday morning.

RCMP said Jeffrey Nik Krafczyk, 39, was arrested after police responded to a report of an alarm being triggered at about 2:30 a.m. Krafczyk was found hiding under a vehicle in the garage and tried to make an escape on foot when he was found, but was quickly apprehended, RCMP said.

The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved five charges against Krafczyk, including two counts of breaching a recognizance as well as one count each of break and enter with intent, possessing a break-in instrument and resisting arrest.

Krafcyk, who has a criminal record, also continues to face charges of assault, uttering threats and theft $5,000 or under from an alleged Sept. 24 incident.

He was released on a $1,000 recognizance on Tuesday.
