The Prince George Farmers' Market and Wilson Square Community Market will be back in action this weekend, after the city issued permits for them to open.

The Wilson Square market had been operating in a reduced capacity since May 2, and the Prince George Farmers' Market is set to open on Saturday.

The P.G. Farmers' Market will reopen its indoor facility at 1310 Third Ave. and will also operate on a section of Quebec Street between Second Avenue and Third Avenue. Also a portion of the parking lot at Second Avenue and Quebec Street has been made available for market vendors.

Last week provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry updated the public health orders regarding farmers' markets, allowing the markets to sell non-food items.

The markets are still subject to public health orders to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and attendance at both markets will be limited to 50 people at a time.
