A Prince George man with a history of similar episodes has been sentenced for using a stolen vehicle to ram several cars - two of them RCMP cruisers - about a year ago.

Paul Daniel Shaw, 28, was sentenced to 11 months in jail for dangerous driving under the Criminal Code, five months for assaulting a peace officer, four months for flight from a peace officer and possession of stolen property and one month for possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Shaw was also issued a three-year driving prohibition for the Dec. 17, 2011 incident in which he ran a stolen vehicle into two police cars and five other cars in an apartment parking lot in the 900 block of Ahbau Street before getting away.

In September 2011, Shaw was sentenced to 30 days in jail for one count of possession of a break-in instrument and two counts of breach of an undertaking or recognizance following a March 22 incident in which three police cars were rammed with a stolen truck.

Shaw was sentenced in provincial court at the Prince George courthouse on Friday.
