Drug charges approved against local man

Federal Crown counsel approved charges Wednesday against a Prince George man following the seizure of more than $200,000 worth of drugs from two homes in October.

Kenneth Daniel Kirkpatrick, 37, faces four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count each of possession of stolen property over $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm

and careless use of a firearm.

Prince George RCMP's street crew unit had arrested Kirkpatrick on Oct. 11 in a parking lot on Ospika Boulevard. RCMP said heroin, cocaine and a small amount of cash were found on him and led to police executing search warrants on a 1600-block Harper Drive home and then on a Mullet Crescent home.

In all, 507 grams of methamphetamine, 243 grams of fentanyl, 395 grams of combined heroin and fentanyl and 109 grams of cocaine were seized. Along with a loaded shotgun, a large amount of cash and a vehicle were seized, RCMP said Wednesday.
