The donor wall for this year's Strong Kids campaign was unveiled Thursday at the YMCA of Northern B.C.

The agency hopes to raise $60,000 in support of children and youth who participate in YMCA camps and programs. One in five children who attend the YMCA's youth programs and one in four who attend summer camps need financial assistance, YMCA of Northern BC CEO Amanda Alexander said.

"We've reached $30,000 of our goal of $60,000," Alexander said. "This funding supports 210 children and families locally."

It got off to a start over the weekend when its Megathon fundraiser raised over $10,000 as 75 participants gathered to participate in four hours of group fitness classes and raise pledges for the Strong Kids Campaign.
