A 39-year-old Prince George woman has died as a result of injuries sustained during the collision Wednesday afternoon between her sport utility vehicle and a city transit bus on Highway 97 just north of the John Hart Bridge.
Police said the driver's side of her vehicle was significantly damaged in the collision and speed and road conditions are believed to be factors in the collision.
Police and emergency personnel were called to the scene just before 3 p.m. The roughly half-kilometre stretch was closed to allow police to conduct an investigation.
The woman had serious injuries and was taken to hospital where she later died, RCMP said in a statement issued this morning. Her name has not yet been released.
The bus driver and soul occupant of that vehicle was not seriously injured.
