The number and value of building permits issued in the city is down from last year, but still above 2018 levels.
A report going before city council on Monday shows that, as of the end of September, the city had issued a total of 406 building permits worth an estimated $161.78 million.
By the same time last year, the city had issued 470 permits with a combined value of $168.45 million. In 2018 the city issued 379 permits worth an estimated $157.26 million by the end of September.
In September, the city issued permits for three multi-family housing projects with a combined value of $15.5 million, 12 permits for new single-family homes worth a total of$7.59 million, two permits for new commercial buildings worth an estimated $3.57 million, seven permits for new mobile homes worth a combined $1.34 million and 24 permits for assorted renovations and additions.
