Break-in at Valemount gas station

On Thursday at 2 a.m. Valemount RCMP were called after the alarm was set off many times at a gas station on Highway 5. Police arrived on scene to find the back door broken into but no one was discovered at the scene.

On Thursday at 2 a.m. Valemount RCMP were called after the alarm was set off many times at a gas station on Highway 5.

Police arrived on scene to find the back door broken into but no one was discovered at the scene.

Security footage showed three people broke in and damaged areas of the business and the adjacent business. Before fleeing the scene suspects took several items.

All three suspects were wearing dark clothing, hoods up, faces covered and wearing gloves.

Valemount RCMP are seeking the public's help and urging anyone that may have any information on the matter to come forward.

"There has been an increase in property-related crime in the region and only by working together can we help put an end to it," said Cst Robert Riemer, Valemount RCMP.

"Lock your doors, keep an eye out for each other and report any suspicious or criminal activity to the police. The Valemount RCMP thank you in advance for your time and assistance."
