BC Bus North is still rolling along northern B.C. highways but measures have been put in place in answer to the coronavirus pandemic, according to the service's website.

Those steps include additional disinfecting of the buses and facilities, the use of commercial-grade sterilization foggers on the overnight cleaning of the buses and commercial-grade air purifiers at all ticket offices.

Drivers and ticket office staff have also been provided with gloves, disinfectant spray, and disposable towels to clean surfaces. And drivers have been told to refrain from using the recirculation function to maximize fresh air to the passenger cabin.

Ticket buyers will also be allowed to cancel a trip within the 24-hour notice period.

Also, a new fare structure that aligns with the distance traveled was also introduced on March 1.

Fares now range from as low as $11 from Valemount to McBride to $65 between Prince George and Prince Rupert.

BC Bus North offers four routes, between Prince George and Prince Rupert, Valemount and Prince George, Prince George and Fort St. John, and Dawson Creek and Fort Nelson.
