All adult indoor and outdoor team sports in civic facilities have been suspended, the City said Thursday.

It said the move comes into effect immediately by order of the provincial health officer and includes the use of ice surfaces at the Kin Arenas, CN Centre, and Rolling Mix Concrete Arena. The Elksentre remains closed to the public.

Youth sports groups (under 19) may still book ice time, but will be restricted to non-contact practices and training.

"The City is contacting user groups and displaying signs to notify facility patrons of the application of the new orders," the City said.

The CN Centre walking program will continue, as it is neither a group activity nor high intensity. The Prince George Aquatic Centre also remains open to the public.

Masks remain mandatory for all employees and visitors to civic facilities with the exception of the pool and the pool deck at PGAC. And no spectators are allow at any of the buildings.
