Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry has announced 42 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in B.C., bringing the total to 659.

There are now 47 cases on Vancouver Island, 339 in the Vancouver Coast Health Authority, 218 in Fraser Health, 47 in Interior Health and nine in Northern Health.

The count for Northern Health was unchanged from Wednesday.

There has been one additional death, at the Lynn Valley Care Centre in North Vancouver. Fourteen people have died of COVID-19 in B.C. to date.

Sixty-four people are in hospital, including 26 in intensive care units.

Of the 659 people who have tested positive, 183 have fully recovered.
