House fire causes $700,000 damage

A house fire in the 1400 block of Shady Valley Road Thursday morning caused an estimated $700,000 damage.

Prince George Fire Rescue was called to the scene at about 9 a.m. Thursday and sent 15 firefighters from three halls. By that time, smoke was visible from the roof and main floor of the house, which was unoccupied at the time.

Firefighters spent hours at the scene extinguishing hot spots and searching for isolated areas still burning. Cause of the fire is undetermined.

There were no injuries.
