A motorcycle rider is dead following a collision with a minivan.
The accident happened Friday at 5:45 p.m. in the north end of the city on Highway 97 where it intersects Nordic Drive.
Both drivers, adult males, were transported to UHNBC and the motorcyclist died as a result of his injuries. The minivan driver is expected to survive.
Alcohol is not suspected in the accident. Prince George RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed the accident or who has pertinent information to call them at 250-561-3300.
It was the third accident involving a motorcycle in two days.
On Thursday at about 1 p.m., Prince George RCMP responded to a single motorcycle collision on Highway 97 and Kelly Road in Prince George. The lone adult female driver of the bike was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Two hours later on Thursday, police attended a motorcycle-sport utility vehicle accident at the intersection of Central Street West and 15th Avenue. There were no significant injuries.
Police are reminding drivers to watch for motorcycles and bicycles and for operators of all types of vehicles to take extra precautions this time of year, when the days are becoming shorter. Use headlights, travel within speed limits and drive according to road conditions.
