HAMILTON — Jordan Lyons rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown as the McMaster Marauders held on for a 27-24 win over the Queen's Gaels on Friday in Canadian university football action.
Kicker Adam Preocanin led the McMaster (4-2) offence as they built a 27-16 lead by the 6:05 mark of the fourth quarter. He had three field goals and two conversions.
Quarterback Andreas Dueck completed 22-of-29 passes for 358 yards.
Rasheed Tucker rumbled in for a three-yard touchdown with 2:47 on the clock and Matteo Del Brocco caught a two-point conversion as Queen's (3-4) made it a three-point game.
Gaels QB Nate Hobbs connected on 28-of-51 pass attempts for 431 yards.
