TORONTO — Hec Crighton Trophy winner Adam Sinagra headlines the 10 U Sports quarterbacks who'll be attending CFL training camps this year.
The University of Calgary star will participate in the Edmonton Eskimos' camp this year after working out with the Grey Cup-champion Calgary Stampeders in 2018. It's part of the league's Canadian quarterback internship program that began in 2010 and became mandatory in 2012.
It allows Canadian quarterbacks to participate in practice drills as well as team and positional meetings.
After going to camp with the Stampeders, the six-foot-one, 195-pound Sinagra returned to Calgary and threw for a U Sports-record 3,233 yards. That earned the native of Pointe Claire Que., the Hec Crighton Trophy as Canadian university football's outstanding player.
Sinagra will return to Calgary this fall but is eligible for the 2020 CFL Canadian college draft.
Also attending CFL training camps are Acadia's Hunter Guenard (B.C. Lions), Saskatchewan's Mason Nyhus (Calgary Stampeders), Manitoba's Des Catellier (Saskatchewan Roughriders), Ottawa's Sawyer Buettner (Winnipeg Blue Bombers), Waterloo's Tre Ford (Hamilton Tiger-Cats), Toronto's Clay Sequeira (Toronto Argonauts), St. Francis's Bailey Wasdal (Ottawa Redblacks) as well as Bishop's Maxime Bouffard and McGill's Dimitrios Sinodinos (both with Montreal Alouettes).
