Toronto Marlies fall in Binghamton for first loss of season

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Nathan Bastian scored two goals to lead the Binghamton Devils to a 7-5 win over the Toronto Marlies on Saturday night.

Sam Gagner, loaned to the Marlies after being waived by the Vancouver Canucks, had two goals and an assist for Toronto (1-1-0).

Trevor Moore, Chris Mueller and Andreas Borgman also scored for the Marlies.

Colton White, Blake Speers, Nick Lappin, Marian Studenic and Blake Pietila had the other goals for the Devils (1-1-0).

The reigning Calder Cup champion Marlies play their home opener on Monday against the Cleveland Monsters.
