SHEFFIELD, England — Emmitt Reesor of Waterloo, Ont., was third in the one-metre event Sunday at the British elite junior diving championships.

English diver Todd Geggus was first with 301.75 points while local competitor Oscar Willcox was second (297.35). Reesor registered 295.50 while Loic Tremblay of Quebec City was fifth with 287.05.

"’I was really pleased with how I dove,’’ said Reesor, who also was third in the three-metre event Friday. "The one-metre requires a lot of height on take-off so you can quickly execute your twists and entries.

"That’s what it makes it different from three-metre."

Sheffiield divers Maisie Bond and Jenna Davison were first and second in the women's event. Jordane Legault of Blainville, Que., was fourth while Maika Januario of Terrebonne, Que., was ninth and Victoria's Renee Batalla finished 11th.
