TORONTO — Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange: Toronto Stock Exchange (16,553.26, up 290.21 points at 16,553.26.) Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Industrials. Up 10 cents, or 10.42 per cent, to $1.06 on 28.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Industrials. Up 10 cents, or 10.42 per cent, to $1.06 on 28.3 million shares.

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Energy. Down 19 cents, or 0.51 per cent, to $36.80 on 17.3 million shares.

Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC). Financials. Up 35 cents, or 1.55 per cent, to $22.91 on 10.7 million shares.

Toronto-Dominion Bank. (TSX:TD). Financials. Up 47 cents, or 0.68 per cent, to $69.51 on 7.6 million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Materials. Up 89 cents, or 3.48 per cent, to $26.49 on 7.9 million shares.

Enbridge Inc. (TSX:ENB). Energy. Up 95 cents, or 1.9 per cent, to $50.91 on 8.1 million shares.

Companies in the news:

Morneau Shepell Inc. (TSX:MSI). Up 65 cents or two per cent to $33.79. Insurance brokerage HUB International Ltd. has signed a deal to acquire Morneau Shepell Inc.'s benefits consulting practice. Morneau Shepell says Hub paid $70 million for the business. Chief executive Stephen Liptrap says Morneau Shepell made the decision to sell the business after a comprehensive review. He says the benefits consulting business is a strong, profitable asset and a great fit for Hub. JP Girard, Morneau Shepell's health and benefits consulting Canadian practice leader, has joined Hub as an executive vice-president. Chicago-based Hub is a global insurance broker that provides property and casualty insurance, health and life insurance, employee benefits, investment and risk management products and services.

TD Bank Group — The chief executive of TD Bank Group saw his total compensation for 2019 fall compared with 2018 when his received a special one-time stock option award of $1.9 million. According to regulatory filings ahead of the bank's annual meeting, TD says Bharat Masrani earned total compensation valued at $12.6 million in 2019. The pay packet included $1.4 million in salary, nearly $5.5 million in share-based awards, nearly $2.7 million in option-based awards, a $2-million cash bonus, $907,000 in pension value and $118,000 in other compensation. That compared with total compensation valued at $15.3 million in 2018 when Masrani earned $1.3 million in salary, nearly $5.6 million in share-based awards, $4.6 million in option-based awards, a $2-million cash bonus, nearly $1.6 million in pension value and $89,000 in other compensation.
