Nathan Yu picked up where he left off at the World University Games.

The 21-year-old UBC Thunderbirds point guard from Prince George scored a career-high 38 points to lead the T-Birds to a 98-85 overtime win over the Santa Clara (Calif.) Broncos in a men's basketball exhibition game Thursday night in Vancouver.

Yu, who helped Canada to a silver medal at the Universiade last month in Shenzhen, China, nailed 20 of his 24 free throw attempts against the Broncos.

Now in his fifth season at UBC, the former Duchess Park Condor will be back on the court at War Memorial Gymnasium at UBC this morning for a rematch against Santa Clara.
