Youth bowlers will be aiming for strikes and spares at the YBC zone 8 championships this Sunday.
Black Diamond Lanes is hosting the five-pin bantam girls, junior girls and senior girls competitions, in addition to the junior boys. Bantam boys and senior boys will travel to Williams Lake.
The top teams will advance to provincials.
At the zone 8 adult playdowns recently at Black Diamond and Nechako Lanes, a number of athletes advanced to the provincial open championships April 3-5 in Chilliwack.
In the ladies division, Morgan Burdock and Coralee Szilagyi of Fort St. John and Stacey Taylor of Quesnel qualified for singles play. They'll be joined by Candice Menard, Leona Sampson and Salina Kennedy of Prince George, who will comprise the ladies team.
In the men's category, Chito Tecson and Kyle Parker of Prince George and Brent Taylor of Quesnel qualified to compete in the singles competition.
They will be joined by Kevin McAlpine (Williams Lake), Ian MacRitchie and Jeff Hickey of Prince George, who will compete as a men's team.
The mixed team will be Peter Inyallie, Jason Kennedy, Jim Montgomery and Mary Anne Schram and Lee Shepard.
