The Prince George Spruce Kings will be without goaltender Stefan Wornig for the rest of the B.C. Hockey League season.

Wornig, a 19-year-old from Surrey, has been out of action since early November because of muscle cramping issues and will remain on the sidelines while he deals with the problem. With Wornig out of the picture, the Spruce Kings have added 18-year-old stopper Aris Anagnostopoulos to their roster. Anagnostopoulos had been an affiliate player with the Kings and had been playing for the Kamloops Storm of the Kootenay International Junior (B) Hockey League.

"We are excited to add a young, talented goalie like Aris to our roster," Kings general manager Mike Hawes said in a media release. "It's unfortunate that we have lost Stefan Wornig for the remainder of the season but it does open a door for a good, young goalie like Aris to come in here and prove that he deserves to be in this league. Aris has attended our spring camps and main training camps for the past couple of seasons and has always done extremely well. I know he will come in here and push hard to get starts."

With the Storm, Anagnostopoulos posted a 7-7-1 record, a 2.63 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage. He will partner with Tavin Grant in the Kings' crease.

Wornig, who was in his first season with the Spruce Kings, had gone 6-6-2-1. He had a 2.76 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.

The Kings also added local defenceman Bryan Allbee from the Western Hockey League's Seattle Thunderbirds during the Christmas break.

The Spruce Kings (18-14-2-2, third in the Mainland Division), will be on the ice Friday in Powell River, Saturday in Alberni Valley and Sunday in Nanaimo.
