Curling is a difficult sport to master.

But with the Zone 5 and 6 regional masters title on the line, Clarence Wigmore found a way to deliver what his team needed a few weeks ago in 100 Mile House to book themselves a spot in the B.C. masters provincial championship, which starts Friday in Grand Forks.

Wigmore will be throwing skip rocks for his Prince George Golf and Curling Club team, which includes third John Thors, second Curt Vagt, and lead Lionel Fraites.

Wigmore faces a stiff test in his first game this morning against Bernie Sparkes of Chilliwack. Sparkes is a three-time Brier and world champion, having played second for Ron Northcott's Alberta rink in the late-'60s.

Friday afternoon, Wigmore will play Bob Gallagher of Duncan.

The tournament wraps up on Sunday.
