Viking wins one of three on the road

The Viking Construction Cougars battled to a 1-2 record during weekend road games in the Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association.

The peewee Tier 1 Cougars lost 5-0 to the Kelowna Heat, defeated the Vernon Vipers 3-1 and fell 5-3 to the Kamloops Blazers.

In the win against Vernon, Brandon Dent collected points (one goal, two assists) on every Prince George goal. Chase Schurack and James Lalikeas also scored for the Cougars, while Gaige Ridland earned the win in net.

Against Kamloops, Lalikeas and Corey Cunningham each had a goal and an assist. The other Prince George goal was courtesy of Brendan Moseley. Jacob Gendron, with two assists, also had a strong game.

The Cougars saw their OMAHA record slip to 3-2. They will be in Kelowna this weekend for an eight-team tournament.
