Viking Construction hosting peewee provincials

The Viking Construction Cougars have home ice throughout the peewee Tier 1 provincial tournament and they're hoping that means they will be one of the two teams left standing for the final, Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

The Viking Construction Cougars have home ice throughout the peewee Tier 1 provincial tournament and they're hoping that means they will be one of the two teams left standing for the final, Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

As hosts of the six-team event, Monday to Thursday at Kin 1, and Cougars will get it started Monday morning at 10:30 when they face off against Kamloops.

Viking returns to the ice later that day, following the opening ceremonies at 6 p.m., to take on Semiahmoo of Surrey at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Cougars have a 7:45 p.m. game against Burnaby Winter Club, and the peewee Cats are back at it on Wednesday at 7:30 against Victoria Racquet Club. Prince George wraps up its round-robin schedule Thursday at 1:30 p.m. against Kelowna.

Representing the northern half of the province, the Cougars roster includes Ethan Hofstrand, Parker McBurnie, Dylan Ilett, Terrell Goldsmith, Tymon Sanikopoulos, Joshua Sale, Jayden Cunningham, Brady MacKay, Miguel Marques, Parker White, Smyth Rebman, Caleb Poitras, Diego Johnson, Ryan Toor, Sean Minhas and Navann Lamarre.

Travers Rebman is the Cougars head coach, Mike MacKay and Jerome Lamarre are the assistant coaches and Malcolm McCulloch is the goalie coach.
