The Penticton Vees scored five goals in the third period to defeat the visiting Prince George Spruce Kings 7-1 Sunday afternoon.
It was the Kings sixth-straight loss in the B.C. Hockey League after they dropped a wild 4-3 decision Saturday night in Salmon Arm.
Sunday's victory was the third-straight for the Vees as they maintained their spot as the league's top team with a 32-6-2-1 record and 67 points.
Despite the loss, Prince George remains in third place in the Mainland Division with an even .500 record at 18-18-0-4 and 40 points.
Sunday in Penticton, Kings captain Chad Staley tied the game at one-all late in the first period.
But the Vees went ahead for good on a power play goal from Tyson Jost mid-way through the second frame.
In the third, Lewis Zerter scored twice, Jost tallied his second of the game, while Shayne Gwinner and Mitch Newsome added singles.
The Kings were outshot 42-21 as starting netminder Jesse Jenks swept aside 35 of 42 shots he faced.
Saturday night in Salmon Arm, Silverbacks forward Josh Blanchard broke a 3-3 tie with under a second remaining in regulation to give the home team the 4-3 win.
After Taro Hirose gave the Silverbacks a 1-0 lead in the first period, the Kings rebounded with power play goals from Jeremiah Luedtke and Adam Clements in a two-minute span to begin the third period.
Thomas Plese tied the game for Salmon Arm eight minutes later, while Prince George forward Michael Buonincontri gave the Kings a 3-2 lead. That lead lasted for five minutes until Shane Danyluk scored the equalizer for the Silverbacks.
Kings' netminder Alex-Brooks Potts earned third-star honours after he made 38 of 42 saves. Offensively, the Kings mustered 23 shots on goal on Silverbacks netminder Angus Redmond.
Prince George's clash in Penticton wrapped up a three-game road trip to the Okanagan and the Kings now return home to face off against the Silverbacks Thursday at the Coliseum.
It's the start of a five-game homestand as Victoria visits on Jan. 17 followed by Coquitlam on Jan. 18. The Surrey Eagles battle the Kings on Jan. 22 and 23.
