Vallee stays on target

Vic Vallee couldn't get rid of the ringing in his ears. That was OK with him. Vallee tossed ringer after ringer during the Prince George Horseshoe Club Spring Tournament, held on the weekend at the club's facility in Carrie Jane Gray Park.

Vallee tossed ringer after ringer during the Prince George Horseshoe Club Spring Tournament, held on the weekend at the club's facility in Carrie Jane Gray Park. The reward for his accuracy was first place in three different divisions -- men's A, men's B and senior men's 40-foot.

Another Prince George resident, Maureen Braun, was also a multiple winner at the two-day tournament. Braun threw to the title in the ladies C and senior ladies categories.

Other first-place finishers were: Orlando Pellizzari (Quesnel), men's C; Kurt Breuer (Prince George), men's E; Ida Boschman (Prince George), ladies A; Helene Boudreau (Quesnel), ladies B; Benita Karlson (Prince George), ladies D; Alice Laflamme (Prince George), ladies E; J.P. Bourgoin (Terrace), mixed A; and Maurice Stern (Abbotsford), senior men's 30-foot.

The next local tournament is the Prince George Open, June 2-3.
