Once again, Vic Vallee won every event he was entered in during the annual Prince George Open horseshoe pitching two-day tournament held on the weekend.
Vallee won the men's A and B events and the senior 40 foot competition. He didn't enter the mixed A event. J.P. Bourgoin of Terrace benefitted from Vallee's decision as he beat out Maurice Stern (Abbotsford) and Helena Boudreau (Quesnel) in the mixed competition.
The P.G. Open was the last horseshoe pitching event of the season for the club. Next up for Valle is the 2013 B.C. Senior Games in August, in Kamloops, followed by the B.C. championship in Penticton during the September long weekend.
About 30 pitchers took part in the P.G. Open coming from various points around B.C., including Abbotsford, Quesnel and Fort St. John. In the men's C event Mike Cunningham finished first while Phil Erickson of Quesnel won the D competition.
Ida Boschman won the ladies A event with Helene Boudreau taking the B title. The D and E winners were Benita Kalson and Alfreda Price of Terrace respectively. Ida Boschman also won the senior 40 foot event.
Maurice Carpenter took first in the senior 30 foot men's event Saturday, while J.P. Bourgoin of Terrance won Sunday.
