The UNBC Timberwolves women's soccer team blew a two-goal advantage and had to settle for a 2-2 draw against the Mount Royal Cougars on Saturday in Canada West action.
In the game played at Mount Royal Stadium in Calgary, the T-wolves led 1-0 at the half on a goal by Sidney Roy in the 26th minute. Jessica Manning notched her first goal of the season in the 52nd minute to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.
But the Cougars rebounded with goals 20 minutes apart from Kristen Bloom (64') and Kelsey Kinzner (84').
The single point leaves the T-wolves (0-5-2) tied with the Cougars (0-4-2). UNBC headed to Edmonton after the game where they'll face the Alberta Pandas (3-0-2) on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the UNBC men fell to 0-7 with a 5-0 loss to the Calgary Dinos (2-4-1) at the North Cariboo field on Saturday. The T-wolves face the Lethbridge Pronghorns (2-2-2) on Sunday at noon.
