UNBC will know by Thursday afternoon if its Northern Timberwolves basketball teams have been accepted into the Canada West Universities Athletic Association.
UNBC president Dr. George Iwama and former men's basketball coach Zane Robison gave a presentation at the association's annual general meeting Tuesday in Victoria and will now await word on acceptance or rejection of the school's membership application.
"They asked a few questions but overall I'm optimistic," Robison said. "I thought it was very well-received. They will vote on it Thursday between 10 and noon, and then in the afternoon on Thursday they will be letting us know."
At the meeting, Mayor Dan Rogers also spoke on UNBC's behalf.
