But, the real test for the UNBC Northern Timberwolves will be this coming weekend when they host the powerhouse Vancouver Island University Mariners in the final games of the regular season.

The Timberwolves -- women and men -- now have matching 15-1 records in B.C. Colleges Athletic Association basketball after weekend sweeps of the toothless Columbia Bible College Bearcats. Playing in Abbotsford, the UNBC women won 86-34 on Saturday and 84-25 on Friday. The male Timberwolves, meanwhile, prevailed 101-72 on Saturday and 124-88 on Friday.

In Saturday's contest, the UNBC women were led by veterans Christine Kennedy and Jennifer Clyne, who scored 19 and 13 points respectively. In the opening game, Kennedy and freshman forward Jennifer Bruce both connected for 15 points.
