The top two teams in the country put on quite a show.

In the end, No. 2 shone more brightly than No. 1.

It happened Friday night at the Northern Sport Centre, where the UNBC Northern Timberwolves downed the Vancouver Island University Mariners of Nanaimo 80-69 in a B.C. Colleges Athletic Association men's basketball game. The teams now have matching 16-1 records. For the Mariners, the loss was their first in the past two regular seasons.
