The UNBC T-wolves men's basketball team used some proficient three-point shooting to beat the Quest Kermodes 96-73 on Saturday, following up an 89-79 win Friday night.
After falling behind early in the first quarter at the Northern Sport Centre in Saturday's game, the T-wolves rebounded to take a slim 22-20 lead heading into the final 10 minutes of the half, where they built a commanding 56-36 lead at halftime.
The T-wolves shot 66.7 per cent from beyond the three-point arc in the first 20 minutes, as Charles Barton and Jeff Chu were both perfect from the trey land and led the team at the half with 17 and 13 points, respectively.
The T-wolf men open the CIS season Friday and Saturday on the road against the Manitoba Bisons and Winnipeg Wesmen, with tip-off slated for 6 p.m. (Pacific) both nights.

Soccer
The UNBC Timberwolf men wrapped up its second CIS campaign on the weekend with a pair of losses at North Cariboo Senior Soccer field against the country's ninth ranked Victoria Vikes.
Saturday the T-wolves dropped a 3-2 decision to the Vikes and followed it up with a 4-0 loss Sunday. With the sweep the Vikes finish the Canada West regular season with a 10-3-1 record, while the T-wolves end the season with a 2-9-3 record.
The UBC Thunderbirds (12-1) will host the Canada West playoff weekend Thursday and Friday. (The T-birds final game at Calgary was cancelled Sunday due to snow.) Friday's playoff games will have the Alberta Golden Bears (7-6-2) facing off against the UFV Cascades (6-7-1) followed by the Vikes taking on the Calgary Dinos (6-6-2). The winner of the game between the Golden Bears and Cascades will face the Saskatchewan Huskies (8-5-2) in one semifinal, while the victor from the Vikes and Dinos game will challenge the T-birds in the second semifinal.
The semifinal winners will play for gold, while the losers play for bronze.
