Ultimate players in Prince George will have the chance to be a part of Canadian history.
The 2013 Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game will pass through Prince George between 8-9 p.m. on June 15. The marathon game will start in Yellowknife at 6 p.m. (PST) on June 14 and travel through 29 cities where one-hour games will be played with a continuous score until it ends in Nanaimo. The scores will be passed on to each city through social media.
In a tight battle last year Team White edged Team Red 288-285. This year marks the third anniversary of the national event.
The purpose of the marathon game is to raise money for two charities, Christie Lake Kids and the Boys and Girls Club. In 2012, more than $8,000 was raised. Donations can be made through Ultimate Canada's website at canadianultimate.com.
In Prince George the game will take place at the Spruceland school fields, across from Rainbow Park. Anyone interested in taking part in the ultimate game can contact Prince George Disc Sports at www.pgultimate.bc.ca.
