Two-wheeled wonder

Pettis rides to two titles at western championships

Jesse Pettis kept up his hot streak over the weekend at the CMRC Western Canadian motocross championships.

The 13-year-old Prince George rider was unbeatable in winning two racing classes in the three-day event which wrapped up Sunday in Raymond, Alta.

Pettis won all three of his motos in the super-mini class and was equally dominant behind the bars of his Kawasaki in the 85cc 12-16-year-old class. He topped the list of 38 riders in super-mini and was the best of 28 riders in the 85cc event, successfully defending the titles he won last year.

"He rode fantastically, he never crashed once," said Pettis's father Doug. "We're very proud of him. He got himself a couple of five-foot trophies and $150 worth of race fuel."
