When the B.C. Hockey Major Midget League holds its annual all-star game, three members of the Cariboo Cougars will be in uniform.
Defenceman Bryan Allbee and forward Steven Jandric will play for Team White and forward Jesse Roach will skate for Team Red. Trevor Sprague, general manager of the Cougars, has been selected as one of two managers for the game. The other is former Prince George resident David Michaud, who now lives in Kelowna.
The all-star game is Jan. 17 in Langley. Past participants include Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the Edmonton Oilers, Evander Kane of the Winnipeg Jets and Prince George's Brett Connolly, who splits his time between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Syracuse Crunch.
Allbee, 16, has nine goals and 22 points in 26 games so far this season. Jandric and Roach, also 16-year-olds, lead the team in scoring with 35 points in their 26 games. Jandric has 16 goals and 19 assists, while Roach has 14 goals and 21 helpers.
The Cougars are sixth in the 11-team league with a record of 10-14-2. They will host the Vancouver Northeast Chiefs Saturday at the Coliseum (2:15 p.m.) and Sunday at CN Centre (10 a.m.).
The fourth-place Chiefs have a record of 13-9-4.
